At Geek Powered Studios, we are excited and honored to have been named a 2014 Torch Award Winner! Yesterday Carrie Hurt, President and CEO of the BBB Central Texas, presented us with a trophy and certificate, recognizing Geek Powered Studios for our commitment to transparency and marketplace ethics.The Torch Award is a coveted honor that was given to only 5 of the 11,000 accredited businesses in the Central Texas BBB’s 79-‐county service area to, “companies that exemplify ethical behavior and display integrity in all aspects of their operations,” as determined by the BBB.We provided the BBB with a thorough description of who we are and how we do business, and they evaluated us on the following categories:
- Management Practices – How we treat our staff and make sure every geek upholds our company’s standards of ethics.
- Community/Investor/Stakeholder Relations - The ways we are mindful of how Geek Powered Studios is contextualized in the community around us, including the people who make our business possible, as well as those at‐large community members to whom we have the opportunity to offer support.
- Communications and Marketing Practices - How we pursue ethics and transparency while advertising and developing our relationship with the public.
- Industry Reputation – What we’ve done to earn the respect of others in our industry.
As CEO Hurt told us during the award ceremony, the judges’ first comments after reading about how we do things at Geek Powered Studios were, “Wow!!!!!” and we are honored to know they feel that way. We are thrilled to be the first and only SEO company in Central Texas to receive a BBB Torch Award, and we strive each day to maintain the kinds of standards for ourselves that earned us this great honor in the first place.
